Andre ter Stegen with his ex-wife Daniela

Marc-André ter Stegen has hit back at Spanish media reports accusing his ex-wife of cheating, which allegedly led to their breakup.

After eight years of marriage, the pair released a joint statement on Friday, March 7, 2025, announcing their separation and stating that it was a mutual decision made in their best interest.

Following the statement, reports surfaced alleging that Daniela had been unfaithful, supposedly causing their separation.

The rumors sparked public outrage, with fans criticising Daniela for her alleged actions and blaming her for Ter Stegen’s dip in form.

However, in a social media post on Monday, March 10, 2025, the Barcelona goalkeeper defended his ex-wife and condemned the Spanish media for spreading misinformation.

According to Ter Stegen, their separation was mutual and had nothing to do with infidelity.

“I am shocked and disappointed by the poor management and lack of leadership at Catalunya Radio & 3Cat Group for the distributing false news and violating personal rights.

“Journalists Juliana Canet, Roger Carandell, and Marta Montaner are liars who have spread false information, publicly tarnishing Daniela’s reputation in a very serious manner.

“There has been no infidelity by Daniela. No third party was involved. Fact,” he wrote on social media.

The former couple began dating in 2012, tied the knot in 2017, and share two children.
