Fashion influencer and creative activist CW Abeniade is launching a transformative Barbados edition of On the Streets with Abeniade. This fashion-for-change initiative uplifts underserved communities through styling, storytelling, and skill-building.

This special edition is being developed with the support of the Barbados High Commission to Ghana, under the leadership of Ambassador Juliette Bynoe-Sutherland, and reflects a shared commitment to inclusion, dignity, and cultural exchange.

The initiative will spotlight individuals living with disabilities and those facing economic hardship, using fashion as a tool to restore confidence and visibility.

It also bridges Afro-Caribbean and African cultures, honouring the ancestral ties between Barbadians and the Ashanti people of Ghana. Additionally, she aims to further introduce Nigerian and Ghanaian culture to Barbadian designers and in turn, expose Barbadians to Nigerian and Ghanaian fashion activism.
