Ghanaian athlete Aziz Mohammed delivered a standout performance as Northwest Missouri State University opened its outdoor track and field season at the Spire Distance Carnival.
The talented middle-distance runner stole the spotlight by winning the men’s 1,500 metres race in record-breaking fashion, setting a new school mark in the process. His impressive run not only secured victory but also highlighted his growing status as one of the team’s key performers.
Representing the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats, Mohammed showcased remarkable endurance and pace, pulling away from the competition to cross the finish line first. The achievement marks a strong start to the outdoor season for both the athlete and the university’s track programme.
The Spire Distance Carnival, known for attracting competitive distance runners, provided the perfect stage for Mohammed to demonstrate his quality and determination.
His record-breaking feat is expected to boost confidence within the team as they look ahead to the rest of the season, with Mohammed poised to play a crucial role in upcoming meets.
