Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu has urged young people, who are starting to ‘climb life’s ladder’, to avoid spending their income on lavish lifestyles.

In an interview with Zionfelix on January 27, 2025, he advised the youth to rather prioritise investments like land.

“The youth today tend to overspend. For example, if someone spends GH¢5,000 every weekend, Friday to Sunday, just think of the amount of money they’re wasting, yet they don’t even own a plot of land,” he explained.

He also emphasised that working in some jobs do not require owning a car, especially if one lives in a rented apartment close to their church or workplace.

“Before buying a car, I would advise such a person to think it through. And if you still decide to buy a car while renting, don’t purchase one that costs more than the building you’re living in,” he added.

Kwaku Manu also shared his perspective on a recent social media controversy where a socialite was criticised for purchasing an expensive curtain.

“Nowadays, a single room self-contained apartment costs around GH¢10,000. I don’t know how much she rented her apartment for, but there’s nothing wrong with her buying an GH¢18,000 curtain. Sometimes, we need to be more patient with what we say on social media,” he added.
