Music producer Appietus has urged authorities responsible for the Ghanaian creative industry to act fast in addressing the challenges facing the sector.

Speaking to GhanaWeb’s Isaac Dadzie at the State House during the final funeral rites of Highlife musician Dada KD, Appietus explained that concerns raised by Shatta Wale about the state of the industry are not mere rants but real issues that need attention.

He mentioned that the problems within the creative space have lingered for too long, and the delay in fixing them weighs on the progress of the industry.

According to him, those in charge must rise to the occasion and implement solutions instead of leaving matters unresolved.

“Shatta Wale is always complaining. It’s not that he’s just talking, it’s true. There are a lot of issues that have to be solved and it’s taking too much time. They should try and do it. The people who have been put in place to handle the industry, to try and solve all the small, small problems,” Appietus said.

Appietus also shared a memory of Dada KD, noting that although they never worked together, the late musician often visited his studio in Dansoman because it was close to his home.

Here are some entertainment personalities spotted at Dada KD’s funeral

“I didn’t have the opportunity to work with him, but he was my friend. He usually came to the studio, because he was always around Dansoman. It’s just sad that he’s gone. But as for death, nobody can bribe it or tell it what to do. So, we give thanks to God for everything. I pray that his soul rests in peace,” he added.
