    • Exciting revelation has been made on social media

By MICHAEL PONTICELLO FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA

    Published: 02:18 EDT, 24 April 2026 | Updated: 21:10 EDT, 24 April 2026

Aussie swimming great Ariarne Titmus has obtained a new role as a TV star, just months after she quit the sport she had dedicated her whole life to.

Titmus announced her retirement from action in the pool in October 2025, claiming she had a desire for new life challenges.

She has since been living her best life away from the sporting world, and enjoying time with her long-time partner Mac.

But she’s now been announced as part of the Channel 7’s broadcast team for the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

The 25-year-old is set to join the network as a mixed zone reporter.

So even though she won’t be competing in the pool, she’ll still be working around the sport she loves, by interviewing swimmers on the pool deck after their races.

‘I’m so excited,’ Titmus told Sunrise.

‘It’s going to be great to be on pool deck,’ the four-time gold medalist said.

‘It’s actually my first international meet where I’ll be on pool deck cheering, but also speaking to the athletes after their races. So I’m really looking forward to it.’

The new role isn’t Titmus’ first foray into working on TV.

Last year, she joined Channel Nine’s broadcast team to provide expert analysis at swimming events, and featured at the 2025 Australian Swimming Trials.

She’s also appeared on the network’s Australian Open coverage, and starred in the reality series ‘SHARK’.

‘I’ve lived my life not caring that I never got to spend birthdays with friends or never being able to go to family events,’ Titmus told News Corp earlier this year.

‘But I wasn’t willing to go back to the life where I made the decision to put my family second.’

‘I also met my partner right after the [Paris] Olympics. I wasn’t willing to put that on the backburner,’ the swimming great added.

‘If I hadn’t been Olympic champion or world record holder, this wouldn’t be the decision I’m making.

‘But because I can look at myself and know I’ve absolutely done everything you can in the sport … it felt like the right time to step away.’

Titmus last year revealed that she has moved to the Victorian capital to be with her partner.
