Francesca “Franki” Vitale has added an amateur boxing championship to an already impressive résumé, capturing the 125-pound novice title at the Central New England Golden Gloves tournament and earning the event’s Most Outstanding Novice Boxer award.

The 35-year-old practicing attorney reached the milestone over the weekend of October 17–18, 2026. Following the Central New England tournament, Vitale also competed in the All New England Championships, hosted by Sonny’s Boxing and Fitness.

Vitale’s path to the boxing ring began about four years ago, when she first walked into a gym with no intention of competing. She initially took up boxing strictly for fitness, using the sport as a way to stay active rather than as a route to the amateur ranks.

That changed last year, when she decided to test herself in competition. Within a relatively short time, the former fitness enthusiast has developed into a championship-level novice boxer, culminating in her Golden Gloves title and the recognition as the tournament’s most outstanding novice.

Outside the ring, Vitale has built a career in law. Based in Beverly, Massachusetts, she practices civil and municipal law, representing local governments, towns and other public entities. Her legal experience includes work as an associate attorney with specialized municipal law firm Hefty, Wiley & Gore P.C. She is licensed to practice law in three states and comes from a family with deep ties to local business.

Balancing a legal career with the demands of competitive boxing requires discipline, preparation and perseverance. Vitale’s achievement reflects those qualities, as well as a willingness to pursue a challenge she had not originally envisioned.

What began as a fitness routine has become an unexpected sporting accomplishment. After four years of training and only a year of pursuing competition, Vitale can now call herself a Central New England Golden Gloves champion — with the Most Outstanding Novice Boxer award providing further recognition of her progress.
