It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period with clubs looking to make big signings ahead of next season.

Fredricson moves on
Manchester United defender Tyler Fredricson has agreed a permanent move to Swiss club Lausanne-Sport, subject to registration.
Fredricson made four first-team appearances since he was handed a debut against Wolves in 2025 – when he also won the reserve-team player of the year award – and was on the bench on a number of occasions last season.
United have inserted a substantial sell-on clause and a buy-back clause into the deal.
The 21-year-old, who joined United at Under-9 level, played in every round of United’s successful FA Youth Cup campaign in 2022 until illness ruled him out of the final against Nottingham Forest.
The club confirmed Fredricson’s departure in a statement on Thursday, saying: ‘Everybody at United thanks Tyler for all his efforts during his time with the club and we wish him all the best for the next chapter of his career.’
Fredricson joins United loanee Sekou Kone at the Swiss Super League side.

Rashford says no to Roma
Marcus Rashford has no interest in joining Roma this summer as speculation regarding his future grows.
The 28-year-old is set to report to pre-season training with Manchester United in the coming days after returning from his loan spell with Barcelona.
Roma had been one of several clubs linked with a move for the England attacker, but Daily Mail Sport understands a move to the Italian giants does not appeal.
Fulham to spend big on Garcia
Fulham are closing on agreement with Real Madrid over a deal worth £35m for striker Gonzalo Garcia. The deal also includes £2m in bonuses and matching rights.
Madrid have been discussing a buy-back option and a 30 per cent sell-on clause as talks draw to a conclusion.
Fulham also working to add midfielder Cesar Palacios on loan from Madrid.

Hull’s Nobel quest
Hull are advancing in talks for Rayo Vallecano defender Nobel Mendy.
As Daily Mail Sport reported yesterday, Hull had made enquiries and proposed a £15m offer for the 21-year-old who can play centre back and left back.
Rangers tried to sign Mendy a year ago from Real Betis but Vallecano got him for £2.5m and a 20 per cent sell-on clause.
Hull face competition from Ipswich for Burnley‘s Florentino Luis but have enquired about Augsburg’s midfielder Mert Komur.
Coventry explore Hamer homecoming
Coventry City are exploring a deal to re-sign Gustavo Hamer from Sheffield United.
The 29-year-old midfielder has one year left on his deal at Bramall Lane.
The Brazilian made 132 appearances for the club scoring 19 goals which included a strike in the Championship play-off final against Luton Town at Wembley.
Atletico reignite Romero interest
Atletico Madrid have rekindled their interest in Tottenham defender Cristian Romero.
The Argentina international’s agents held talks with Inter Milan last weekend and director Piero Ausilio confirmed interest but that the deal would be complicated owing to the financial package.

Atletico had interest last year and are exploring the figures involved in a deal for the 28-year-old Spurs captain again.
Inter are in the market for centre backs this summer, with one new recruit expected to be John Stones if all goes to plan in his medical today.
Stones set for Inter switch
England defender John Stones has arrived in Italy ahead of his medical with Inter Milan.
Stones, 32, left Manchester City at the end of last season following 10 years with the club.
Meanwhile, talks between Manchester City and Lille are reaching a crucial stage over the transfer of Ayyoub Bouaddi.
The 18-year-old Morocco international is ready to make the move now though his club have been keen to keep him in France for another season as part of negotiations.
City are ready to use him this season with Rodri a target for Real Madrid while interest is building in Nico Gonzalez and Tijjani Reijnders.
City have lost Bernardo Silva and also have interest from Tottenham in Omar Marmoush and Savinho.
Bouaddi was valued around £60m before the World Cup but is now considered to be worth around £80m.
City also want to add another goalkeeper to replace Leeds-bound James Trafford with Marseille’s Geronimo Rulli one name under consideration. They also want to strengthen at right-back and on the wing with Chelsea’s Pedro Neto and Paris St Germain’s Ibrahim Mbaye among names discussed.
Daily Mail Sport reported on Wednesday that the teenage Morocco international is ready to make the move now, though the French club would prefer him to stay for another season.
City would want Bouaddi for this season with Real Madrid ready to push for Rodri who is keen to return to Spain for family reasons.
Though they have added Elliot Anderson, they have lost Bernardo Silva and could also sell Nico Gonzalez and Tijjani Reijnders who has interest from Galatasaray and earlier in the summer Atletico Madrid.
