At least 10 people were rushed to the hospital after they were struck by a box truck on a bustling Manhattan street, according to the NYPD.

The terrifying incident happened around 4pm in Chelsea Monday afternoon.

The driver of the truck was heading north on 8th Avenue when it slammed into a parked van, causing it to go onto the sidewalk.

The vehicle hit a building as a result, according to the FDNY.

Nine people suffered non-life threatening injuries and one is in critical condition.

Police have since closed off the area and investigating if the crash was accidental or suspicious. The driver remained at the scene.
