At Circle Odawna in Accra, a fire broke out Thursday morning, destroying around fifteen buildings.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded quickly to the early-morning fire, containing it before it could spread to a nearby warehouse and more than 200 other buildings.
Witnesses reported that the incident happened near the scene of a recent fire that had also damaged a number of nearby wooden structures.
In addition to advising locals and business owners to follow fire safety precautions to avoid more incidents in this extremely sensitive neighborhood, the GNFS is looking into what caused the fire.
