Love, they say, comes to individuals in different ways and forms when least expected.

Similarly, people often meet the love of their lives under different circumstances.

This saying applies to the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, a young doctor who met his wife during his first year at Ridge Hospital in 2021.

In an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, shared on social media on January 17, 2026, Dr Frank Amoakohene spoke about his love journey and how he met his wife, Juliet Amoakohene, who was also a midwife at the same hospital.

‘I’ve been given 38 nicknames, but I am not moved’ – Dr Amoakohene tells Delay

According to the Ashanti Regional Minister, he met his wife in 2021 during his first year as a doctor at Ridge Hospital.

Sharing how their love story began, the minister noted that he coincidentally met his wife after she requested his assistance when a patient was scheduled for delivery.

Frank Amoakohene explained, “I met her at Ridge Hospital. I was there as a doctor, and she was there as a midwife. We started work in the same year. We all had different rotations, but fortunately, we met on the same night duty. That was the first time I met her.

“I was on my way to the next labour ward when she called for my assistance because she had a difficult patient. When I got there, the patient insisted that she wanted me to be the one to attend to her. Luckily, my wife was the one in charge of the patient, so she kept bringing me updates every single time,” he said.

Frank Amoakohene further noted that he began to express his feelings for Juliet Amoakohene weeks after the two grew close.

According to him, they started as friends following the incident at the hospital.

“From the beginning, we were friends because of that incident. We were friends for a year before we got married.

“What was different about her was that she was caring and gave me peace of mind,” he added.
