Christiana Ashiaku has been named Player of the Tournament following an outstanding performance at the 2026 CAF African Schools Football Championship in Harare. 

The forward played a pivotal role as Ghana U15 girls team successfully defended their title, defeating Burkina Faso 10-9 on penalties after a goalless draw in a tense final on Friday.

Ashiaku was instrumental throughout the competition, scoring two goals in five matches and delivering key performances when it mattered most. Her influence extended beyond goals, as she consistently drove Ghana’s attacking play, combining effectively with teammates and creating chances in the final third.

Her composure under pressure, intelligent movement and tireless work rate were crucial in helping the Black Damsels navigate a challenging tournament and retain their crown.

The Player of the Tournament accolade caps a remarkable campaign for the young forward, who has emerged as one of the standout performers of the competition.
