Ghanaian social media personality, Asantewaa, has finally opened up about the reasons behind her separation from her husband, Jeffery, revealing that their sickle cell carrier status played a major role in her decision to walk away from the marriage.
The influencer has recently returned to the spotlight amid renewed discussions about her relationship with AMG Armani and comments she reportedly made following the emergence of allegations of domestic violence involving Nana Akua.
In a Snapchat post that has since gone viral on socoal media, Asantewaa explained that she decided to leave her marriage after discovering that both she and Jeffery were sickle cell carriers.

According to her, the discovery raised serious concerns about having children together, particularly because she had lost three of her siblings to complications associated with sickle cell disease.
Asantewaa said she did not want to repeat what she described as the mistakes of her parents by knowingly risking having children who could inherit the condition.
She maintained that her decision to leave Jeffery was not because he had mistreated her, but because of her concerns about their genetic compatibility and the potential implications for their future children.
“So for my ex-husband, he did me no wrong and I also didn’t … I only decided to walk away because we are both SC carriers and he was still insisting we continue with the marriage,” she reportedly wrote.
The social media personality also addressed speculation surrounding the timeline of her relationship with AMG Armani, insisting that she and Jeffery had separated long before the businessman entered her life.
According to Asantewaa, Jeffery struggled to accept the separation and continued to hope that they would eventually remain together.
She further claimed that he did not involve his family in their separation and continued telling them that everything was fine between the couple.
“For whatever reasons my ex-husband decided never to involve his family in our separation because he still wanted us to be together. He kept telling his family lies that all was well between us for years. He kept holding me back,” she reportedly stated.
Asantewaa explained that her decision was influenced by her personal experiences with sickle cell disease in her family, insisting that she could not knowingly take the risk of having a child affected by the condition.
“He tried all possible means to not let me go but I had to, knowing how my three siblings … because of SC. I just couldn’t fathom giving birth to SC knowingly. We were separated way before Armani came into the picture,” she added.
She also indicated that learning about AMG Armani’s genotype influenced her decision to pursue a relationship with him, as she believed it offered an alternative to the concerns she had about having children with Jeffery.
