The Oyoko Royal Family has announced the passing of Nana Konadu Yiadom III, the 14th Asantehemaa (Queen Mother of Asanteman), who died at the age of 91.
A pillar of the Asante monarchy, she was the biological sister of the current Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and played a crucial role in preserving Asante traditions while providing wise counsel to the kingdom.
Her death marks the end of an era, as she was deeply respected for her leadership, devotion to culture, and unwavering support for her brother’s reign.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Manhyia Palace after the completion of traditional royal rites.
