Ghanaian reggae musician and radio presenter, Blakk Rasta, has claimed that popular business mogul Richard Nii-Armah Quaye did not pay any musician who performed at his recent birthday party.

In a video shared on GHpage TV’s Instagram and monitored by GhanaWeb on April 11, 2025, Blakk Rasta revealed that Richard Nii-Armah Quaye disclosed to him that artistes such as Diamond Platnumz, Davido and Stonebwoy did not charge for their performances.

According to Blakk Rasta, Richard Nii-Armah Quaye explained that due to his long-standing relationship with the Tanzanian musician, Diamond Platnumz, he didn’t request payment for his performance.

“He never paid any musician at the RNAQ party. That is Ghana’s latest richest man. Richard Nii-Armah Quaye told me that he has been a very good friend of Diamond Platnumz and he has been friends with him for over 5 years. So, when it was time for his birthday, he invited him and the only thing Diamond requested was to be picked up with his private jet.

“That is the same thing he did with Davido and Stonebwoy, and they did not talk about money,” he stated.

Asked if Shatta Wale was dropped from performing at the birthday ceremony and why, Blakk Rasta indicated his sources disclosed that Shatta Wale requested to be paid before performing at the birthday party.

“Could this be the reason why Shatta Wale was dropped? The information I have is that Shatta Wale asked him how much he was going to be paid to put up a performance,” he remarked.
