An Arizona Cardinals’ second-round pick could be set to miss the entirety of his rookie NFL season following a devastating injury blow.
Offensive guard Chase Bisontis had impressed for the Cardinals in training camp but was forced out of their game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday after his left knee was fallen on during the third quarter.
Bisontis, the No. 34 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, was taken off the field by trainers and was eventually carted to the locker room. He did not return during the 27-14 win.
Now, it appears Bisontis’s rookie year in the NFL may have come to a premature end just two games into the preseason.
Following tests, it emerged that the offensive guard has sustained a torn MCL and will undergo surgery next week, according to Ian Rapoport.
While Bisontis is expected to make a full recovery, he is expected to be sidelined for most, if not all, of the 2026 season.

Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur had admitted following Thursday’s game that the injury was ‘not good.’
‘We’ve got to run some more tests, but I’d say not good right now,’ he said. ‘But we’ve got to run the test.’
It is a major blow for the Cardinals, who had drafted Bisontis out of Texas A&M, with the rookie said to have impressed in preseason training.
Bisontis reportedly caught the attention of Arizona coaches with his play during training camp.
He had been playing with the second-team offense and was expected to compete with starting right guard Isaiah Adams for playing time in the upcoming regular season.
Bisontis starred for Texas A&M last season as an All-SEC player who did not allow a sack for the 11-2 Aggies.
