Ghanaian political commentator Frank Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Appiah Stadium, has appealed to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and its Director, Raymond Archer, to exercise restraint in their ongoing case involving award-winning dancehall artiste Shatta Wale.

The controversy began on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, when Charles Nii Armah Mensah, known professionally as Shatta Wale, claimed that EOCO officers had stormed his residence heavily armed in connection with a seized Lamborghini Urus.

The musician took to Facebook to express his outrage, accusing the EOCO boss of overstepping his bounds.

“Raymond Archer EOCO BOSS, Ibe you go make NDC go out of power next 4 years. Bringing guns to my house was uncalled for!!!!” Shatta Wale wrote. In another post, he continued: “EOCO BOSS, THE PRESIDENT OF GHANA DIDN’T PUT YOU IN THAT OFFICE TO COME AND HUMILIATE THE CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY. REMEMBER GOD NO SLEEP!!”

Reacting to the situation in a TikTok video on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, Appiah Stadium called for leniency from EOCO, emphasizing Shatta Wale’s influence in Ghana’s entertainment space.

He likened the musician to the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba, describing him as a national asset whose prosecution could provoke public backlash and potentially damage the government’s image.

“Raymond Archer, I beg you in the name of God, Shatta Wale is like Daddy Lumba. He is a superstar. His fans are many and powerful. If you jail him or treat him unfairly, you will destroy the goodwill this government has,” Appiah Stadium warned.

He also sent greetings to President John Dramani Mahama and other influential figures in Ghana, urging them to intervene and help resolve the standoff amicably.
