Ghanaian singer Jude Max William Acquah, affectionately known as Mr. Music or Neujay, recently has advised his fellow musicians during an interview with DjQwequ on Ahomka 99.5 FM.
Neujay emphasized the importance of showing good sportsmanship, advising his peers not to get angry or upset when someone else wins an award in a category they’re also nominated for.
According to him, artists who react negatively simply don’t understand the award scheme. “Let’s face it, not everyone can win, but what’s unacceptable is when artiste throw a get-all bent out of shape just because they didn’t take home the award.”
He jokingly suggested that if an artist truly believes they deserve the award, they should ask the organizers to nominate them alone and also every nominee is a potential winner.
“If you can’t handle losing, then maybe you should ask the organizers to nominate you alone. Every nominee is a potential winner, and if you don’t understand that, then you need to take a seat,” he added.
