Entertainment pundit and media personality MC Portfolio has asserted that he plays a pivotal role in Kumasi’s entertainment scene, adding that any artiste looking to work on a project in the city must go through him.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, MC Portfolio stated that he has been so richly blessed by God that he has become the go-to person for entertainment matters in Kumasi.
According to him, he sees himself as an indispensable figure in the city’s entertainment space, not just a visible presence, but a trusted and reliable contact that artistes and industry stakeholders consistently turn to.
“God has blessed me in such a way that any artiste wanting to undertake a project in Kumasi must go through me,” he stated.
He went on to give an example of how his influence played a role in Shatta Wale, launching his “Ahodwo Las Vegas” project in Kumasi.
MC Portfolio noted that he served as a PR person for Shatta Wale’s project in Kumasi, and has also been actively influencing decisions, including artistes’ selection for the project.
“When Shatta Wale wanted to launch his Ahodwo Las Vegas project, I served as the public relations officer, and Andy Dosty introduced me as the go-to person for any project in Kumasi. That’s when I suggested some names to Shatta Wale, which helped me build a rapport with him,” he shared.
MC Portfolio also addressed critics who have labelled him a hypocrite for working with both Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, two artistes known for their longstanding rivalry.
He defended his decision and emphasised the importance of professionalism in the industry.
“Some people call me a hypocrite, but what they don’t understand is that before I committed to working for Stonebwoy, I already had a relationship with Shatta Wale. I play my role in everyone’s life and then get back to my lane,” he said.
