Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has revealed the inspiration behind his iconic Spinaroonie celebration, a move widely recognised as the signature gesture of WWE legend Booker T.
During Bournemouth’s 5-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in January 2025, Semenyo executed the Spinaroonie after scoring his team’s fifth goal of the afternoon.
The celebration quickly went viral, trending for days and capturing the attention of football and wrestling fans alike.
In an interview with Bleacher Report, the Ghanaian forward shared the childhood influence that shaped his celebrations, revealing his deep love for wrestling.
“When I was a kid, I used to watch wrestling all the time. We played SmackDown vs. Raw, and my brother and I would turn the living room into a ring. We’d be fighting each other the whole day when our parents were out. I just fell in love with wrestling,” he said.
Semenyo’s admiration for Booker T fueled his appreciation for the WWE legend’s fights, making the Spinaroonie second nature to him. Surprisingly, he disclosed that he never practiced the move but can pull it off effortlessly.
“Booker T was my favorite, and honestly, I don’t even know how I learned the celebration. I’ve never practiced it, but it’s just there in my muscle memory—it’s just in me,” he added.
The 25-year-old has been in blistering form this season, scoring seven goals in 26 Premier League appearances while also providing four assists.
