Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo has reportedly caught the attention of Liverpool as a possible successor to Mohamed Salah, whose contract with the club expires at the end of the season.

According to Sky Sports, Liverpool’s recruitment team, led by Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes, is keen on identifying emerging talent to fill potential gaps in the squad within the next year, with Semenyo being a notable candidate.

The 24-year-old striker has been making impressive strides at Bournemouth, scoring five goals in his last 14 Premier League appearances last season.

This season, under head coach Andoni Iraola, Semenyo has continued to shine with three goals in nine matches, drawing interest from other Premier League clubs such as Newcastle, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur.

Semenyo’s ambition to compete at the highest levels in Europe could make Liverpool an appealing destination. In an interview with The Athletic last month, he expressed his desire to play in elite competitions: “I aspire to compete in the Champions League or Europa League. I know it requires dedication and isn’t something achieved overnight. I need to stay consistent and keep scoring to move forward in my career.”

With Semenyo’s skill set and aspirations aligning well with Liverpool’s future plans, he could prove a promising addition to their attacking lineup if Salah moves on.
