Nigerian actress Annie Macaulay Nigerian actress Annie Macaulay

A video of Annie Macaulay correcting a fan for calling her by the surname of her estranged husband, 2Baba, has surfaced on social media.

This development follows Annie’s recent public announcement on Instagram that she has dropped the surname “Idibia” amid her ongoing divorce from 2Baba.

Annie clearly asked fans and followers to refer to her as “Nwana Macaulay” from now on, rather than using her estranged husband’s surname, “Idibia.”

In the new video, a ‘stubborn’ fan spotted Annie at the Headies Awards and loudly yelled her name in the crowd as “Annie Idibia.”

Unable to hide her disapproval, Annie quickly corrected the fan, saying, “It’s Annie Macaulay.”

In a separate development, while presenting an award on stage, Annie mistakenly introduced herself as “Idibia” but quickly corrected herself in front of the crowd.

    2Baba’s divorce announcement

On January 26, 2025, 2Baba took to his Instagram stories to disclose that he and Annie had been separated for some time and had officially filed for divorce.

The couple’s 12-year marriage has constantly been under public scrutiny, especially due to recurring allegations of infidelity involving 2Baba.
