Ghanaian actress, Portia Asare, has recalled one of the painful things she heard in her acting career.

She recounted in an Instagram video that an actress, mostly featured in English movies, told a producer that she could not act with a local girl like her.

According to her, this actress made such a statement because she wasn’t fluent in English.

Portia was unhappy about how some people tag Kumawood actors and actresses as villagers or illiterates.

Meanwhile, Portia Asare claimed this actress did not even attend Senior High School or University.

She opened up about how hurt she was after the producer told her about what the actress said.

Portia also talked about how difficult life was when growing up. She remembered weeding at the farm with her family and grandmother, eating together with the food placed on leaves.

The actress further revealed that she has two children, a 16-year-old boy and a girl. She explained that she got pregnant with her first child after SHS before continuing her education.

Portia Asare advised parents to take good care of their children without waiting for help from the government.
