The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) are on a revenue mobilisation exercise The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) are on a revenue mobilisation exercise

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has announced that it will commence a massive revenue mobilisation exercise on Monday, 10th November 2025, to retrieve all monies owed to the Assembly for the 2025 fiscal year.

According to a statement issued by the Assembly, the exercise forms part of efforts to improve revenue generation and enhance service delivery across the city and would involve the deployment of a Revenue Mobilisation Task Force to visit business premises, properties, and advertising locations to reconcile bills and collect outstanding payments.

The AMA explained that the task force would also verify payments for Business Operating Permits (BOPs), Property Rates, Outdoor Advertising Fees, and Rents, adding that ratepayers were required to present valid receipts of payment during the inspection.

It advised business owners and property managers to leave copies of their receipts with caretakers when absent to avoid penalties.

“The Assembly will not entertain any excuses from defaulters or their agents. All ratepayers are therefore advised to ensure full compliance,” the statement said.

In addition to the revenue collection, the AMA disclosed that the operation would target all unauthorised billboards across the metropolis.

It cautioned that any billboard found to have been erected without the requisite permit will be removed, and the companies responsible will be surcharged with the cost of removal.

The Assembly urged all ratepayers to cooperate with the task force to ensure a smooth exercise, noting that the funds collected would support key developmental projects, including sanitation management, infrastructure improvement, and public safety initiatives.

“The Assembly urges all ratepayers to support this important exercise, as the funds collected will enable the AMA to continue delivering essential services for the benefit of all residents of Accra,” the statement concluded.

The AMA indicated that individuals seeking clarification or reconciliation of bills may contact the Metro Director of Finance at the Assembly’s Head Office.
