The incident, according to a UTV report, occurred on the evening of Monday, July 28, 2025

A warehouse reportedly owned by Ghanaian business mogul Dr Daniel McKorley, popularly known as McDan, has been demolished by individuals alleged to be national security operatives.

The incident, according to a UTV report, occurred on the evening of Monday, July 28, 2025, along the Spintex Road in Accra.

Some workers who spoke to UTV News said two excavators used for the demolition exercise initially broke down before the operation could proceed. They added that the warehouse also served as their place of shelter, and despite pleading for leniency, the operatives did not heed their call.

According to the report, the demolition took place around 7:00 P.M., although the reasons behind the operation remain unclear.

“We were here when they came with excavators. We begged them to allow us take out our items from the warehouse because this is where we sleep, but they said no, that it was too late. We told them again that this is where we sleep, but they started demolishing the place.

“The excavator broke down, so they left and came back later,” One man, claiming to be a worker at the warehouse, said.

Another added, “I am the security man here. We were around at about 6:28 P.M. when the soldiers arrived in two pickups. We had no idea they were here to demolish the building.

“We pleaded with them to allow us to take our belongings, even our beds, but they refused, saying it was too late. We later managed to sneak out our beds during the demolition.”

“They kept telling us to leave without offering any explanation. Two of the machines broke down, and they brought another one. We wanted to take out our things, but one of the soldiers said no, we couldn’t take anything, a third worker narrated.
