Ken Kuranchie, legal counsel for former Public Procurement Authority Board Chairman Prof. Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, has defended his client’s innocence after the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) detained him.
Prof. Ameyaw-Akumfi is being investigated by the NIB regarding financial issues pertaining to his time serving as Board Chairman of the Ghana Infrastructural Investment Fund (GIIF),
His financial clearances from his tenure at GIIF are the subject of the investigation.
Kuranchie expressed confidence in his client’s innocence and emphasized the need of due process, even though the case’s specifics are still unknown, according to a report by citinewsroom.com.
He told citi news in an interview that, “We should wait and see what happens next because investigations have only just begun.” My customer is not guilty. He is innocent of every single charge. But we’ll see.”
