Tuto Zabala Jr. of All Star Boxing, Inc. held a press conference at the Chamber of Commerce in Bogotá, Colombia, to announce his next fight card. Colombian Olympic silver medalist and WBO #9-ranked contender Yuberjen “Tremendo” Martínez (6-0, 6 KOs) will square off against undefeated prospect Angel Bethancourt (8-0-1, 5 KOs) of San Miguelito, Panama, in a 10-round clash for the WBO Latino flyweight title.

The headliner, billed as “Clash of the Unbeaten,” is set to take place May 22 from the Event Center Atheyna Bylon in Panama City, Panama, live on ESPN Knockout.

Carrying momentum from last year’s WBO Convention, Zabala has signed Yuberjen Martínez and aims to continue his strong legacy in Colombia, having previously worked with former world champions such as Miguel “Happy” Lora, Sugar Baby Rojas, and Carlos Maussa, among others. Zabala feels Martínez has the tools to carry the torch into a new era.

Quotes

Yuberjen Martínez:
“I’m excited to be back in the ring in Panama City.
During my amateur days, I traveled a lot with my Olympic team, so fighting outside of Colombia doesn’t faze me.
I’m ready for the next step. I now have a great team behind me and am confident I will become Colombia’s next world champion.”

Angel Bethancourt:
“I’m not much of a talker outside the ring—I let my fists do the talking.”

Tuto Zabala Jr.:
“The Zabala family legacy in Colombia is unmatched. I have a lot of love for this country—my wife is from here—so anything boxing-related feels special to me.

“Yuberjen has his hands full on Friday, May 22, but we hope this challenge brings out the best in him.”

Also in attendance at the press conference were longtime boxing historian Estwil Quesada, President of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce Dr. Ovidio Claros Polanco, Vice President Felix Zabala III, and both fighters.

All Star Boxing returns to Panama in association with Master Promotions, featuring a total of eight bouts. First bell is scheduled for 7:00 PM, with live television coverage beginning at 8:00 PM. Tickets are available at MIEVENTOS.COM.
