Alhaji Karim Grusah is the owner of King Faisal

The storm over the Ghana Football Association’s controversial decision to extend the presidential term limit from two to three terms has taken a dramatic twist, with King Faisal President Alhaji Karim Grusah launching a scathing attack on current GFA boss Kurt Okraku and Dreams FC.

Speaking to Peace FM after the GFA Congress on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Grusah, who had earlier attempted to injunct the meeting through the courts but failed, accused Okraku of presiding over a reign of selfish interests that has damaged Ghana’s national teams since his tenure began.

“It’s left with two years. If you have something better to do, just do it. Kurt has a selfish interest; he has damaged all our national teams since his tenure began. Those who voted for him did so because of money, and God has seen them all,” he said.

The outspoken football administrator, a long-time critic of the third-term proposal, went further to allege that Dreams FC have been involved in match-fixing in the Ghana Premier League, vowing to take the matter to court again with what he claims is “solid proof.”

“Kurt’s team is engaged in fixed matches. Dreams are involved in match-fixing. I have proof. I will send them to court again,” Grusah charged.

He also called on former GFA Chairman Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, another vocal opponent of the amendment, to join him in legal action to save Ghana football.

“I’m not finished with them. We gave them a letter, so why are they running away? I will call Tamakloe so we can take it to court. The Executive Committee members should come out and save Ghana football,” he further added.

Alhaji Grusah also accused the current leadership of using intimidation to silence dissent, claiming that clubs such as Hearts of Oak “fear Kurt” because refusing to “dance to his tune” could lead to relegation.

He further dismissed the GFA’s celebrations over a bronze medal at the 2024 WAFCON, contrasting it with Ghana’s past silver-winning feats.

“He said he had ‘master plans’ at the beginning of his tenure, but he should show us what he has done. All he has brought is disgrace. We have won WAFCON silvers before, but see how the GFA celebrated bronze at the 2024 WAFCON,” he stated.
