Black Stars defender, Alexander Djiku has officially completed his transfer to Russian Premier League giants, Spartak Moscow.

The 31-year-old centre-back signed a two-year contract until June 2027, following his departure from Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Alexander Djiku joined Fenerbahce on a two year contract as a free agent from Strasbourg in 2023 after the expiration of his contract with them.

The Black Stars centre-back established himself as a mainstay in the Fenerbahce team during his spell in Turkey under former manager Jose Mourinho, making 75 appearances, scoring four goals, and providing two assists.

Djiku’s move to Spartak Moscow marks a new chapter for the experienced defender and is expected to play a huge role in the current campaign, considering his wealth of experience in the game.

Djiku is a key player for the Black Stars and most recently scored the match-winning goal in the Black Stars’ crucial 1-0 victory over Mali in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Accra.
