Former Ghana international Albert Adomah has weighed in on the ongoing debate surrounding the inclusion of dual-nationality players in the Black Stars squad, insisting that quality and commitment should take precedence.
Speaking on the issue, the former winger stated that inviting dual nationals should not be seen as a problem if the players are willing to represent Ghana. According to him, any player with Ghanaian heritage who is available and committed deserves an opportunity to be part of the national team setup.
Adomah, however, acknowledged concerns from players who have been part of the qualification process, noting that frustration can arise when others join the squad late and compete for places. He admitted that such situations can be difficult for those who have worked hard throughout the qualifiers.
Despite this, Adomah emphasized the importance of selecting the strongest possible squad, especially for major tournaments like the FIFA World Cup. He stressed that if the technical team believes certain players can strengthen the squad and help Ghana reach the latter stages of the competition, then they should be welcomed.
He concluded that while balancing fairness and performance is important, the ultimate goal remains achieving success on the global stage.
