The respected Paramount Chief of Essikado, Traditional Area, Nana Kobina Nketsia V, has lauded the character of Mr. Alan Kyerematen, describing him as a wise and peaceful leader whose background and conduct make him fit to lead the nation. Speaking during a courtesy call by the Caravan Tour team, led by Mr. Kwame Owusu Danso, Nana Nketsia emphasized that Alan Kyerematen‘s leadership transcends political lines and that his peaceful nature is one that all Ghanaians should strive to emulate.

“The character of a leader is more important than the political party he belongs to. Alan is wise and peaceful, and that is what we should emulate,” he declared.

The chief praised Mr. Kyerematen’s spotless record, noting that he hails from a respected family, both paternally and maternally. “Alan comes from a well-respected family, and since becoming a politician, nothing negative has been associated with him. This is a man of integrity,” Nana Nketsia remarked. The chief emphasized that Alan Kyerematen’s peaceful and dignified approach to leadership sets him apart, making him an ideal candidate in these turbulent political times.

Nana Nketsia went on to emphasize the importance of peace in the upcoming elections and called on Mr. Kyerematen’s team to continue the peaceful campaign they had embarked on. Drawing an analogy from nature, he said, “Butterflies make things beautiful with their peaceful nature. That is what your campaign should represent—peace, calm, and beauty in your message.” He admonished the team to be mindful of their approach, urging them to refrain from divisive politics and to continue advocating for unity and transformation.

The chief expressed concern over the corruption accusations and counteraccusations that have plagued the political space in recent years. He noted that these practices, often perpetuated by the two dominant parties, were harmful to national progress. “We cannot build a nation on accusations and counteraccusations. What we need is wisdom and peace, and Alan embodies both,” Nana Nketsia added.

In his response, Kwame Owusu Danso, Vice Presidential candidate for the Movement for Change, thanked the chief for his counsel and assured him that the team would continue to promote a peaceful and unifying message. He then presented some of the key policies from Alan Kyerematen’s Great Transformational Plan (GTP), which he said would revolutionize governance in Ghana. One of the standout policies he highlighted was the proposal to form a government of national unity, ensuring that all Ghanaians, regardless of tribe, political affiliation, or gender, would have equal opportunities under Mr. Kyerematen’s leadership.

“The winner-takes-all system has been detrimental to the development of the country,” Danso said, explaining that Mr. Kyerematen’s government would seek to unite the nation and provide opportunities for everyone. This inclusive governance model, he stressed, would bring an end to the divisive politics that has held Ghana back.

However, the policy that resonated most deeply with Nana Nketsia and his elders was the Ghana Rural Aged Support Program (GRASP), a key initiative under the GTP aimed at supporting elderly citizens in rural areas who are not covered by SSNIT or any other retirement benefit scheme. KOD explained that under the GRASP initiative, the rural elderly would receive a monthly stipend of at least 200 cedis, along with access to a special health insurance scheme that would cover all illnesses and diseases.

“Health and financial support will be given to the rural aged, who have often been left behind,” Danso said. He emphasized that this initiative would provide much-needed relief to elderly Ghanaians living in rural communities, improving their quality of life and offering them the dignity they deserve in their later years.

Nana Nketsia praised the GRASP initiative, calling it a “timely and compassionate” policy that would address a long-standing issue in the country. He urged the Caravan team to continue their peaceful campaign and spread the message of care for the vulnerable, unity, and development as envisioned in Alan Kyerematen‘s Great Transformational Plan.
