CEO of Akwaaba UK Dennis Tawiah (L) and Stonebwoy’s manager, Chief Stylz (R)

Dennis Tawiah, the CEO of Akwaaba UK, has refuted claims by Stonebwoy‘s manager, Chief Stylz, that they intend to sabotage the dancehall musician’s upcoming album tour in the UK.

During a phone-in session on Hitz FM while making his points clear, Tawiah engaged in a heated argument and eventual outburst with Chief Stylz, who was also ‘phoned in’ at the same time.

One would recall that Stonebwoy‘s manager, while making the sabotage allegations, stated that his team had booked the UK album tour for March 8th way back in October, only to find out in January that Akwaaba UK had also scheduled an Independence concert for the same day.

However, addressing these claims, the Akwaaba UK CEO argued that his team had booked their concert for March 8, long before Stonebwoy announced the date for his album tour.

“Do you know when I booked the O2 Indigo? It was four months before the Ghana Independence. So if you say you came with an announcement in October, that is nothing. The booking and payment were made on August 24, 2024, but the initial contract was made with O2 on May 4, 2024, after Medikal’s show. If Chief is sitting there talking about things he has no facts about, I would send him the reason why it got to the word ‘sabotage’… They should be very careful,” he said.

Chief Stylz still insisted that his team was the first to book the said date,”As for the inquiry as to who booked the venue for the concert, everybody has it. I can also bring an email as to when the inquiry and booking went to Live Nation, which was way earlier than the date he mentioned. When it’s time for us to put all these out, we will.”

Then, the Akwaaba UK CEO flared up, threatening to publicly disclose the conversation that took place between their camp and Stonebwoy‘s team.

“He and Stonebwoy should go to a studio anywhere, and I would show you guys what all these are about. The truth must be told. Ask Stonebwoy about who supported him in all his shows in the UK, including the ones that were cancelled,” he stated.

Stonebwoy’s manager, not rubbishing the fact that they have been recieving help from Akwaaba UK regarding concerts in the UK, said, “I am well aware of the role you have been playing, not just in the life of Stonebwoy but in all Ghanaian acts. This issue popped up because anytime we want to do an event in the UK, we reach out to our Ghanaian people, and that was how we got to know what was happening.”

Dennis Tawiah, unwilling to let go of the sabotage allegations made against his team, further argued that Stonebwoy and his team only reached out to him January 2025 about the album tour and their ‘8th March’ date.

“Chief, you and Stonebwoy contacted me on January 4, 2025… I have got the evidence. That was when Stonebwoy came to see me. I had already booked my venue a long time ago. I have been organising Ghana Independence since 1998,” he established.
