Member of Parliament(MP) for North Tongu and Ranking Member, Committee on Foreign Affairs at Parliament of Ghana, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has mocked the President, Nana Akufo-Addo after the Afrobarometer indicated that the current administration is not doing quite well in corruption fight.

While discussing the current Afrobarometer report shared on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV monitored by MyNewsGH.com, Okudzeto Ablakwa mocked the presidency for placing second with a 54% in the report in the section of corruption.

“What is shocking is the office of the president, it comes second and it’s unusual. Hitherto to the office of the president, when President Akufo-Addo became president, check the Afrobarometer, he was held in high esteem as the most trusted. How did he fall so mightily, this is more than a Humpty Dumpty fall with 54%. I don’t see how Bawumia can extricate himself from this”, Okudzeto expressed shock.

The lawmaker made reference to the popular hashtag created earlier this year “#JulobiHouse” to mock the presidency of their level of corruption. He asserted that the recent Afrobarometer report has vindicated the hashtag created by the youth of the country.

The latest Afrobarometer report by the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD) has revealed that in terms of corruption, the Ghana Police tops the poll with 63% while the office of the President follows with a percentage of 54%.

The 2024 report is titled, ” Citizens’ policy priorities, economic conditions and government performance: Highlights from Afrobarometer Round 10 survey in Ghana.”

Samuel Okudzeto has described this revelation as shocking.
