Ghanaian radio presenter, Abdul Karim, well-known as Nana Romeo, has made a sad disclosure about the circumstances leading to the death of Akua Donkor.

Reports about the death of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) founder surfaced online in the early hours of Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

After a family source confirmed her demise, it was revealed that Madam Donkor passed on Monday night at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, also known as Ridge Hospital, in Accra.

This was after she first sought medical attention at the Nsawam Government Hospital in the Eastern Region for respiratory issues before being referred to Ridge Hospital in Accra where she died.

Speaking on his show on Accra FM, Nana Romeo in a video sighted by Zionfelix.net gave details about why Akua Donkor was transferred to the Ridge Hospital.

According to him, the GFP founder was transferred from the Nsawam Government Hospital due to the lack of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the facility.

If not for this unfortunate situation, he thinks Akua Donkor would have survived.

Looking at the bad road network from Nsawam to Accra, Romeo was concerned about how someone fighting for her life would be comfortable while being transported to the referred hospital.

Nana Romeo also raised concerns about inadequate beds at most health facilities in the country.
