Akosua Serwaa, the widow of the late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba, has spoken for the first time after returning to Ghana from Germany.

She arrived at Kotoka International Airport on January 9, 2026, where she was welcomed by her supporters, including media personalities Ohemaa Woyeje and Sally Mann.

In a statement dated January 10, 2026, Akosua Serwaa said she was surprised by the crowd that met her at the airport.

Daddy Lumba: Reactions as ‘Team Legal Wives’ welcomes Akosua Serwaa at airport

“Upon landing safely at Kotoka International Airport, my first act was to thank God for His mercy and protection. As I walked through the terminal and noticed a large crowd gathered ahead, I quietly wondered whether a national leader had arrived on the same flight. As I drew closer, it became clear that the crowd had not gathered for a national leader, but for me, their sister, mother, and daughter, the widow of the late Daddy Lumba,” part of the statement read.

In her statement, she extended appreciation to supporters, especially Team Legal Wives, noting their solidarity and advocacy had strengthened her through the difficult period and symbolised unity and justice in the dispute.

“I wish to express my heartfelt and profound gratitude to Team Legal Wives for their immense and unwavering support throughout this journey. Your solidarity, prayers, advocacy, and love have strengthened me in ways words cannot fully capture. The unity you have shown stands as a testament to truth, justice, and the power of collective support,” the statement added.

Evangelist Papa Shee, businessman Kennedy Agyapong (Kenpong), and some members of the late musician’s family were also present to welcome Akosua Serwaa.

Akosua Serwaa’s return came nearly a month after Daddy Lumba’s burial at Heroes Park in Kumasi on December 13, 2026, which she and other family members did not attend due to disagreements over funeral arrangements and widowhood rites.
