Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah (L) criticizes Akosua Serwaa (M) and Odo Broni (R) over Lumba feud Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah (L) criticizes Akosua Serwaa (M) and Odo Broni (R) over Lumba feud

Media personality Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah has chided Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni, claiming their feud has nothing to do with love for the late Daddy Lumba, but everything to do with his property.

In a video circulating on social media, Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah stated that the tension between Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni is not about affection for the late musician, but rather a struggle over who will inherit his assets.

According to him, the public feud is tarnishing the reputation of Daddy Lumba, who was widely loved and respected for his contribution to Ghanaian music.

Speaking sarcastically, Afrifa-Mensah even encouraged the two women to continue fighting, if that’s what they truly want.

“They’re not fighting because of their love for Daddy Lumba. The only reason they’re going back and forth is because of the properties. I would even advise them not to stop; they should keep fighting. After they’ve finished tarnishing Daddy Lumba’s name, they can come for my surname for their children,” he said.

The broadcaster further claimed that both women owe their fame to their association with the late musician.

He added that when Daddy Lumba was alive, the public never heard of any conflict between them, but now that he is gone, they are fighting over who should perform the widowhood rites, because the one who does, in his view, stands to benefit more from the late musician’s estate.

“Honestly, if anyone knows Akosua Serwaa or Odo Broni, it’s because of Daddy Lumba. When he was alive, we never heard any issues from them. But now that he’s gone, they’re at each other’s throats over properties. If it were truly about love for Lumba, they would have thought things through. But that doesn’t matter to them, all they care about is who gets the house at Tantra Hills or East Legon,” he added.

Akosua Serwaa has taken legal action at the High Court in Kumasi seeking an injunction on the burial and funeral arrangements of the late musician.

Akosua Serwaa through her lawyer, William Kusi of Dominion Chambers, is seeking a declaration that she is the only surviving spouse of the late musician.

According to her statement filed in court, she wants the court to restrain the late musician’s family head, Abusua Panin Kofi Owusu of Abuakwa-Kumasi, and Odo Broni, from taking custody of Daddy Lumba’s body or carrying out any funeral rites.

She has also requested that Transitions Funeral Home be barred from releasing the body to anyone other than her.
