Veteran Ghanaian musician, Akosua Agyapong, has once again taken aim at the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), warning its leaders over alleged financial mismanagement.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, the outspoken singer accused some officials of embezzling funds. She stressed that the reported misuse of money at GHAMRO cannot go unpunished. “Those who are involved will vomit the money,” she declared.

Agyapong further questioned the commitment of Ghana’s copyright bodies, arguing that they are failing the very artistes they are supposed to protect. According to her, these institutions must raise their standards, work more diligently, and ensure that musicians receive what is rightfully due them.

Her comments add to years of consistent criticism of both GHAMRO and the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA). Agyapong has long argued that weak leadership and lack of transparency have deprived musicians of the benefits of their craft.

For decades, she has used her platform not only to perform but also to advocate for accountability in Ghana’s music industry. Her latest outburst underscores the frustration of many artistes who continue to question whether the structures in place truly serve their interests.
