Veteran Ghanaian highlife musician, Akosua Agyapong, has offered some words of advice to Kumawood actress and singer Yaa Jackson regarding her lifestyle and career choices.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Ekwanso Dwodwo on Thursday, August 28, 2025, Akosua Agyapong expressed gratitude to the young actress for recognizing her as a role model.

She also commended Yaa Jackson, alongside other emerging female artistes, for weaving elements of highlife music into their songs, which she described as a positive way of preserving Ghana’s cultural identity.

The seasoned musician urged Yaa Jackson to focus on being herself rather than trying to imitate others in the entertainment industry.

Citing her own journey, Akosua Agyapong explained that she has always valued her achievements without feeling the need to meddle in the affairs of others.

“I have always been appreciative of my successes and have never been interested in copying anyone or involving myself in unnecessary issues,” she said.

She further encouraged Yaa Jackson to remain dedicated to her craft, noting that with hard work and originality, she could excel in both acting and music.

Akosua Agyapong’s counsel comes amid ongoing public discussions about Yaa Jackson’s bold and often controversial lifestyle, which has attracted both criticism and admiration on social media.
