Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has praised Jordan Ayew for his exceptional leadership during Ghana’s victories against Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Jordan’s career with the Black Stars has not been without criticism.
Throughout his time with the team, he has faced scrutiny, with questions raised about his consistency, leadership, and ability to perform on the biggest stage.
However, the 33-year-old forward led the Black Stars to dominant victories, helping Ghana recover from a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign and propelling them to the top of Group I, five points ahead of second-placed Madagascar.
Jordan played a pivotal role in the team’s success, scoring once and providing four assists in Ghana’s emphatic 5-0 and 3-0 wins over Chad and Madagascar, respectively. His performance earned immense praise from Agyemang-Badu, who once played alongside him.
“He’s very calm, with a strong mentality. Playing with him, you realize the kind of guy he is. The captaincy issue has been resolved, and with the likes of Stephen Appiah and Asamoah Gyan, we’re good to go,” Badu told 3Sports.
With five goals and four assists in the ongoing qualifiers, Ayew now ranks just behind Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, who leads the charts with six goals and three assists.
