Veteran actor and musician Agya Koo has made an appeal to President John Dramani Mahama, urging him to pick up and complete creative arts infrastructure projects initiated by the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

In a message shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Agya Koo acknowledged President Mahama’s renewed focus on the arts and expressed optimism about the direction Ghana’s cultural sector could take under his leadership.

“Hello Mr. President John Mahama, I am writing to express my appreciation for the importance of arts and culture in Ghana’s development. As an Actor and musician, I humbly request that you consider continuing the creative art buildings initiated by the previous administration led by @NAkufoAddo. These projects have the potential to promote Ghana’s cultural heritage, support local artists. let’s help keep Ghana’s creative spirit alive. Thank you,” he wrote.

The actor’s call specifically referenced creative arts centers begun under former President Nana Akufo-Addo, which he hopes will not be left incomplete.

According to Agya Koo, completing these initiatives would not only support the livelihood of Ghanaian artists but also serve to protect and promote the country’s cultural identity.

He believes that with the right infrastructure in place, the arts can become a thriving ecosystem that nurtures local talent and contributes meaningfully to national development.

    See his appeal below.
