Renowned Ghanaian actor Agya Koo has responded to critics who claim he only recently began advocating for better roads.

The backlash follows a viral video of the actor lamenting the deplorable state of roads in the country.

Many social media users accused Agya Koo of selective activism, arguing that he remained silent on the issue when his preferred political party was in power.

Some critics suggested that his recent outspokenness was politically motivated, urging him to remain silent.

I recently witnessed hazardous ⚠️ road conditions that require urgent 🚨 attention. I respectfully request that the relevant authorities take necessary measures to prevent accidents and ensure public safety 🙏 #agyakoo #tetemmofraband https://t.co/OIKWeXkHG5 pic.twitter.com/KmnK0vNG9s

However, in a social media post, Agya Koo refuted these claims, stating that he has been vocal about road infrastructure issues for years, regardless of which government was in power.

To support his claim, he shared a past video of himself addressing the issue and calling on authorities to take action.

“I understand that some of you might think I’m hypocritical for speaking out now, but I want to remind you that I’ve been advocating for better roads. I spoke about this issue on Angel FM during Nana Akufo-Addo’s government. I’m not just starting to care about this issue; I’ve been passionate about it for a long time. So, please 🙏 Abeg. Let us all stand for the truth,” he wrote.

His response has sparked further debate online, with some supporters commending his consistency, while others remain skeptical of his stance.
