Nana Agradaa has responded to a viral video showing her husband discarding a court summons, stating that he had every right to do so because he was not the intended recipient.

The incident followed Agradaa’s appearance before the Tema High Court on May 26, 2025, in connection with a GH¢20 million defamation lawsuit filed by gospel singer Empress Gifty. The lawsuit stems from public remarks made by Agradaa that Gifty claims damaged her reputation.

After their initial court appearance, a video circulated online capturing the moment Agradaa and her husband, Asiamah, exited the premises, only for the husband to drop the court summons onto the ground.

Reacting to the video, Agradaa explained that the document should not have been handed to her husband in the first place. She argued that because he was not directly involved in the case, he was within his rights to dispose of the summons.

According to Agradaa, her husband had informed court officers that he was not the correct recipient when they attempted to serve him.

She also took the opportunity to address Empress Gifty and her husband, Hopeson Adorye, promising to face them in court. Agradaa dismissed the service of the writ to her spouse as improper and irrelevant to the case, emphasizing that she alone is the subject of the legal action.
