Agbeoko is a Ghanaian rapper

Ghanaian rapper Agbeko has opened up about the dark period of his life when drug addiction forced him to live on the streets and struggle with severe memory loss.

Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM on October 28, 2025, Agbeko recounted how his dependence on drugs caused him to lose everything he had worked for, including his home, savings, and social connections.

“I was doing drugs. I couldn’t get myself a place anymore; I had no means to. I lost everything that was holding me up, so I found myself on the street,” he said.

He admitted that despite earning some money from his music, the income was not enough to sustain him, as most of it went into survival and studio expenses.

“I would be lying if I said I didn’t get money from music. Though at that time, it wasn’t paying much, but the few shows I played, whatever amount of money I get, I divided it into parts. I was living alone, so I paid the bills.

“Some of the money went into bills, some went into music, which was studio bookings and cutting promo CDs, and the other went into feeding. That’s how I managed the little I made from music,” he stated.

To support himself further, the ‘Wototome’ hitmaker stated that he ventured into small-scale trading.

“I was into indoor boutique where I sold clothes, and I sometimes carried the things around for people to buy,” he shared.

Agbeko also disclosed that during this difficult time, he began experiencing serious memory loss, which affected his relationships and how people perceived him.

“Along the line, too, I realised I had an issue with memory loss. It’s serious, so I feel like I need medical attention too. I started forgetting people I knew.

“When people who support me see me on the street and I don’t return their energies, they think I was being arrogant, but they don’t know what I’m going through, so I don’t blame anyone,” he added.

Agbeko made headlines again recently when photos of him living on the streets popped up, drawing a lot of comments from people who knew how vibrant he was when he was actively in music.
