Afua Asantewaa, the Ghanaian media personality behind the ambitious singing marathon known as the Sing-A-Thon, has expressed her gratitude to Ghanaians following the outcome of her second attempt at breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest individual singing marathon, which, she has confirmed, was unsuccessful.

In an official statement issued by her representative, Askof Productions Limited, Afua described the experience as both “challenging yet rewarding” and “an incredible experience.”

“Having had the opportunity to explore my potential on the esteemed Guinness World Records platform on two occasions has led to discovery, growth, development, success, and life-altering events that have shaped my being,” she stated.

Despite the setback, her message carried no tone of defeat. Instead, it was filled with appreciation for the support she has received from across Ghana and the world.

“I, on behalf of my dedicated team, would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported, cheered, provided constructive criticism, been inspired, encouraged, and believed in my journey,” she noted.

Afua went on to extend thanks to a number of institutions and individuals who played key roles during her attempts, including Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, Ike’s Cultural Village, the Ashanti Region Police Team, National Sports Authority-Ashanti Region, various sponsors, media platforms, and blogs both locally and internationally.

She concluded on a hopeful note: “We will continue to make steady progress.”
