Wode maya with his pregnant wife

Following several years of trying and enduring multiple miscarriages, YouTuber Berthold Kobina Winkler Ackon, popularly known as Wode Maya, has announced that he and his wife, Trudy, have welcomed a child.

In a post on his social media pages on January 11, 2026, Wode Maya shared the struggles he and his wife faced in their journey to start a family.

The content creator, known for promoting Pan-Africanism through his videos, disclosed that he had anticipated potential difficulties with having children even before proposing to Trudy.

He outlined a timeline of key moments in their journey, particularly in September 2021, when they were told they might not be able to have children.

Despite this knowledge, he asked Trudy to marry him in December 2022, and they tied the knot in September 2023, coincidentally on the same date Trudy had lost her mother 13 years earlier.

Following their marriage, the couple endured six miscarriages, which Wode Maya said made their journey to parenthood a true testament to resilience.

“September 2021 – we were told we couldn’t have children. December 2022 – I asked her to be my wife. September 2023 – we got married, on the same day she lost her mother 13 years earlier. After six miscarriages over the years, in 2025 we finally became parents. Through every challenge, every loss, and every tear, our journey is a testimony of resilience, faith, and hope,” he wrote.
