Global superstars Wizkid and Asake have officially shared their historic collaborative project.
The four-song EP, titled REAL, Vol. 1, blends lush Afro-fusion production with the spiritual, rhythmic storytelling both artists are known for.
With production by Magicsticks, lol, and 4Tunes, the project carries a cohesive sonic identity rooted in contemporary Afrobeats. REAL, Vol. 1 is out worldwide today.
First announced in a joint interview in 2025, REAL, Vol. 1 features artists whose creative paths continue to intersect at pivotal moments. New music from the duo followed weeks of speculation and social media teasers that sent the music world into a frenzy.
They shared the smooth, percussion-led feel-good single “Jogodo,” which received support from Billboard, Essence, Vibe, OkayAfrica, and more. “Alaye,” “Iskolodo,” and focus track “Turbulence” round out the tracklist.
The latter is accompanied by a music video, and the single introduces subtle, edgy experimentation without losing its dance-ready core.
Following a run of chart-topping collaborations, Wizkid and Asake deliver a tightly curated project built around rhythm, ease, and cultural confidence. While both artists have previously dominated the charts individually, this project marks their first full-length body of work together.
The project represents a monumental collision of two eras of African music excellence: the smooth, soulful melodies of Wizkid’s Starboy era and the high-energy, infectious tracks that have made Asake a global phenomenon.
REAL, Vol. 1 arrives as a highly anticipated follow-up to the three chart-topping previous singles between them, including the GRAMMY Award–nominated “MMS.”
Wizkid’s 17-year, record-breaking legacy as one of Afrobeats’ most influential global figures meets Asake’s award-winning, chart-dominating rise of the past five years.
Both artists have been fundamental in propelling the genre to the forefront of global charts.
Long-time friends and collaborators, the two continue to champion each other’s music and contributions to the genre—proudly representing Nigeria and the wider continent’s undeniable impact on the global music landscape.
REAL, Vol. 1 marks a defining moment in a partnership that blends experience, momentum, and cultural relevance at the highest level.
