Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has vowed to expose a high-ranking official linked to the ruling NDC government over alleged fraudulent scheme in a fiery rebuttal following President John Dramani Mahama’s 2026 State of the Nation Address (SONA).

The confrontation occurred on the floor of Parliament on February 27, 2026, after Majority members reportedly displayed a photo of former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta in an attempt to mock the previous administration’s economic record.

Afenyo-Markin, visibly irritated by the Majority’s antics, claimed that the Minority holds evidence of a “senior appointee” who is allegedly using a platform called TribeNet to defraud the public.

“You are showing a picture trying to embarrass the former Finance Minister; we’ve seen it. But soon—very soon—let me assure you that somebody, a senior appointee who is in charge of this TribeNet, would go to jail,” the Minority Leader fumed.

The Minority Leader specifically alleged that the scheme is targeting Ghana’s most vulnerable demographic: the unemployed youth.

He claimed that the appointee in question had “connived” to dupe job-seekers under the guise of the TribeNet initiative.

“Very soon we will bring her picture. Then you will see the one in charge of TribeNet, duping innocent Ghanaians, duping their unemployed youths,” he added.

“There are many youths who are looking for jobs, and this TribeNet, with the connivance of an appointee of government—she will be exposed.

“So, you continue with Ken Ofori-Atta. Soon and very soon, it will be your turn,” Afenyo-Markin warned.
