The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco has set a new benchmark in global digital engagement, recording a record six billion views across social media platforms during the tournament.

According to CAF, the competition generated an unprecedented 5.2 billion video views, making it the most viewed continental football tournament in history. The figures underline the growing global appeal of African football and the strong connection between the tournament and fans worldwide.

One of the strongest areas of growth came from the African diaspora, with millions of new audiences engaging with TotalEnergies CAF AFCON Morocco 2025 content throughout the competition.

A total of 285 million engagements were recorded, reflecting an exceptional level of fan interaction driven by goals, dramatic match moments, behind-the-scenes content and supporter reactions. The milestone places AFCON at the top of global continental tournaments in terms of digital reach.

TikTok emerged as a major driver of this success, with over one million fan-generated videos created under #TotalEnergiesAFCON2025. The platform helped attract younger audiences, turning the tournament into a global cultural movement that extended far beyond the pitch.

CAF said the digital success reflects its commitment to innovation, fan engagement and global growth, with AFCON Morocco 2025 setting a new standard for how African football is experienced and shared worldwide.
