English-Ghanaian forward Sean Adarkwa came off the bench to score for Wealdstone FC, but his effort proved only a consolation in their heavy 5–1 defeat to Boreham Wood FC in the National League.
Adarkwa was introduced at half-time and made an immediate impact, finding the net in the 48th minute to reduce the deficit to 2–1 and briefly spark hopes of a comeback for the visitors.
However, Boreham Wood had already taken firm control of the contest before the break, with James Clarke scoring twice in quick succession. The hosts responded swiftly after Adarkwa’s goal, restoring their advantage through Zak Brunt before Clarke completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot. Substitute Abdul Abdulmalik later added a fifth goal to cap a dominant performance.
Despite the loss, Adarkwa’s strike highlights his steady contributions this season, with six goals in 27 appearances. Wealdstone will now turn attention to their next fixture against Aldershot Town on April 6.
