Adamus welcomes 12-month roadmap to revive mine, restore investor confidence

Adamus Resources Limited has welcomed the government’s decision to develop a 12-month roadmap to resolve challenges surrounding the company and restore the Adamus mine to sustainable operations.

The company described the outcome of a recent meeting at the Presidency as a “significant and constructive step forward” towards securing the future of the mine and protecting the interests of its employees, contractors, suppliers, host communities and other stakeholders.

Under the agreed framework, Adamus Resources, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and the Minerals Commission will jointly develop the 12-month turnaround roadmap.

A six-member management team, comprising three representatives from Adamus and three from the government, will oversee the implementation of the programme.

In a statement, Adamus said the collaborative approach would allow all parties to focus on restoring the mine while protecting its value to Ghana and stakeholders.

“Adamus remains committed to the future of the mine,” the company said.

It assured employees, contractors, suppliers, host communities, business partners, investors and the Ghanaian public that it understood the uncertainty and anxiety caused by developments in recent months.

The company said the mine plays an important role in supporting livelihoods, businesses and communities in the Western Region, while contributing to Ghana’s mining sector and the wider national economy.

It therefore urged its employees, contractors, suppliers and host communities to remain calm and supportive as the agreed process unfolds.

Adamus said it would continue engaging with the government and relevant institutions and provide updates as the turnaround process progresses.

The company expressed confidence that the challenges confronting the mine could be resolved through cooperation among the government, Adamus, employees, financiers, suppliers and host communities.

Roadmap to be presented within two weeks

According to Adamus, the next key milestone is the presentation of the 12-month turnaround roadmap to the Presidency within the agreed two-week period.

The company described the process as more than an effort to resolve a dispute, saying it is intended to protect an important Ghanaian asset, preserve jobs and livelihoods, restore confidence and create conditions for a viable and productive future for the mine.

Adamus thanked the government, the Presidency, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and the Minerals Commission for their willingness to engage towards a resolution.

It also expressed appreciation to its employees, host communities, suppliers, financial partners and the Ghanaian public for their patience and continued support.

“Adamus Resources Limited remains committed to working with all stakeholders to turn this opportunity into a successful turnaround, a stronger future for the mine and restore confidence in the Ghana mining industry,” the statement said.
